Presley Place

Presley Place
The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation's (EPFC) primary commitment has been to fund the building and operational costs of Presley Place. Presley Place is a 12-unit apartment property, one of several such properties or “campuses” that are part of the outstanding Estival Communities program created and managed by the Metropolitan Inter-faith Association (MIFA) in Memphis. Also funded by the EPCF is the Elvis Presley Music Room, where the youngsters of Presley Place and all the other Estival campuses may enjoy access to musical instruments and instruction and participate in special related programs. Presley Place opened to its first residents in July 2001. See our news article about the dedication ceremony.

Presley Place Officially Open

July 10, 2001 - Lisa Marie Presley quotes her father's words about making a difference in children's lives.
Presley Place officially opened on July 10 as Memphis officials, Elvis fans and the public were in attendance to see Lisa Marie Presley, Chairman of EPE, cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the new facility. New resident families -- formerly homeless -- began moving into the fully furnished units the next day.

In her remarks at the opening ceremonies, Presley said, "All of us with the EPCF and Elvis Presley Enterprises are extremely proud of this amazing facility."

She added, "The work that MIFA does truly has an impact on peoples’ lives and we look forward to this collaboration."

In June of 1999, the EPCF announced its commitment to fund the creation of Presley Place, a $1 million-plus development managed by MIFA as part of Estival Communities, MIFA’s housing program for homeless families.

The grand-opening ceremony provided the public an opportunity to view the facility and learn more about this program to assist families in crisis.
